As you all know and have seen Hurricane Harvey has left my beloved hometown in devastation. So much of Houston is under water, and many had to leave their homes. My family and I are all fine; and my home is currently not affected by the water. Thank you to everyone who has checked in on me. I know so many of you (local & not local) are doing much to help Houston. THANK YOU!
While other parts of the city are waiting for the waters to recede, I know many of us are ready to get out and start the recovery process (some already have–see my story below). Texans are tough but please consider charitable opportunities to help.

What a day we had yesterday!
The water has mostly receded from our neighborhood. The rain today was light. However, there is a new floor…a flood of generosity. We spent the day sorting and delivering donations. Mountains of donations. Shelters are actually asking people for volunteers to help sort donations–they need help sorting the clothing, toiletries, etc.
Helpful hint if you ever donate to something likes this:
- sort and label items (i.e. ‘Little boy clothes, size 7x’)
- put them in clear containers or clear plastic bags
If you happen to be in an area where you can get access to a donation center and donate some of your time, please do so. This will help them better serve our community!
First and foremost, we are #Houstonstrong & second we are Texans. Together we can overcome anything and together we will get through this!
