Lighting selection can be one of the most difficult decisions to make during a new build, remodel, or re-freshening of a space. There are so many factors you have to decide. First is the space it is going in. The space will determine the size and scale. Second, is the type of lighting the space allows. Third is the design style: casual, elegant, contemporary, etc. Fourth is location. Depending on if your chandelier or chandeliers are being placed above a table or island or in a room with tall ceilings or short ceilings, will determine the actual light fixture height.
If you are using your chandelier as your main task light, make sure that there is ample amount of light output. If the chandelier is used more as ambient in light or accent lighting to work with your task lighting, there is no need to stress the amount of light output. I highly recommend to put your decorative lighting on dimmers. This allows you to create more of ambient light.
Here are some more spectacular chandeliers I saw at High Point Market back in the Fall.
