Windows: Kitchens with a View

When designing the architecture of a home, you may notice that most kitchens are designed to have windows.  The importance of natural light in a space is so important; there is nothing like have a room filled with windows, especially if it has a view!

Not only does natural light provide more lighting in the space, but it can also help set the ambiance.  Placement of windows in the kitchen is important as well.  Window placement can affect cabinet and shelf placement.

Also, windows can provide a sense of security.  For example, when kitchens overlook the yard, moms like that they can look out into the yard while in the kitchen to watch their kids.

Being able to see nature and the outdoors is relaxing and comforting.  Is there a particular placement of windows you prefer in your kitchen?

    Donna-
These images are beautiful. I love your designs!
I just love windows everywhere, and I love kitchens with a living area. I would love to have skylights in my kitchen.
    Happy Wednesday.
